What Is Mortuary Sciences?

Mortuary Sciences is the study, and practice, of what happens to the human body after death. This is more commonly referred to as being a Mortician of a Funeral Director.

It is their job to prepare the body after death, organize death certificates, and help families plan funerals and visitations. There is a lot that goes into those seemingly simple tasks, much that goes on behind the scenes for the comfort of everyone involved.

There are tons one needs to learn in order to become a mortician. When you go to school to earn a degree you learn business practices, religious studies and how to respect other religious beliefs beyond the grave, cosmetics on a dead body, chemistry, human anatomy, and tons of surgical practice on cadavers.
